We accept wrestlers ages 4 through 14 years old, or up to 8th grade.

No. We welcome both beginner and experienced wrestlers. Athletes are grouped by age, weight, experience, and ability level whenever possible.

Absolutely. Girls are highly encouraged to participate, and we are proud to have female wrestlers in our club ranging from beginners to state champions, regional placers, and state qualifiers.

Yes. We welcome athletes from public school, private school, and homeschool backgrounds.

Our home training facility is at Paradise Ridge Community Center. Some camps, events, and special activities may also be held at First Baptist Church Joelton.

Yes. We compete in Amateur Athletic Union sanctioned tournaments throughout the season.

No. Tournament participation is encouraged but not required.

Wrestlers should have:

• Mouthguard for wrestlers with bracesSinglets are encouraged for practices and are required for competitions, tournaments, and sanctioned events.

Athletes should wear clean athletic clothing without zippers, metal, or loose pockets. Wrestling shoes are strongly encouraged, and street shoes are not permitted on the mats. Headgear is required during all live wrestling situations. Singlets are encouraged for practices and are required for competitions, tournaments, and sanctioned events.

Mouthguards are not required for all athletes, but wrestlers with braces are required to wear one during participation.

Yes. Wrestlers are expected to arrive clean and properly groomed for practice and competition. This includes trimmed fingernails, clean clothing, and proper personal hygiene. Athletes should not arrive covered in dirt, mud, or with poor hygiene due to the close contact nature of wrestling.

For the safety of all athletes, wrestlers with contagious illnesses, unexplained rashes, or skin infections may not participate until medically cleared.

Wrestlers are matched based on weight, skill level, experience, and safety considerations.

No. Weight cutting is not permitted in our club. Athlete health and long term development are more important than chasing lower weight classes.

Yes. Consistent attendance helps athletes improve safely, build conditioning, develop technique, and become dependable teammates. While we understand families have busy schedules, regular participation is strongly encouraged.

Practice cancellations due to weather, holidays, or facility closures will follow the schedule of the Metropolitan Nashville Government and Davidson County and Metro Nashville Public Schools. If schools are closed, all practices and events are cancelled. School delays do not affect practice schedule. Any additional changes will be communicated through the private group chat.

Our club emphasizes strength, discipline, and faith along with accountability, teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, perseverance, and personal growth on and off the mat.

That is completely normal. Many athletes begin with little or no experience. Our goal is to create a positive environment that helps young wrestlers build confidence and improve over time.

We use a private group chat for practice updates, tournament information, schedule changes, announcements, and other important communication.

Yes. Parents are strongly encouraged to stay during practices and events whenever possible. If a parent needs to leave or drop off their child, they should notify a coach, another responsible parent, and their child before leaving. Coaches and volunteers should never be left wondering where a parent has gone.

No. Coaches are not babysitters, and neither are other parents unless specific arrangements have been made directly with them.

Yes, but parents remain responsible for supervising non participating children during practices and events.

Parents should notify coaches of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or limitations prior to participation so we can help provide a safe training environment.

Yes. All coaches are background checked through Amateur Athletic Union requirements.

Yes. Parent involvement is important to our club. If you are interested in volunteering, please speak with a coach or board member.

Yes. We plan to participate in fundraising activities, local parades, and community events throughout the year. Participation is encouraged but not required.

Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring the club or supporting youth wrestling can contact a coach or board member for sponsorship opportunities.

Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to speak privately with a coach or board member regarding possible assistance or sponsorship opportunities.

Yes. Donations made to the club are tax deductible where permitted by law.

All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise approved by club leadership due to exceptional circumstances. Please contact a coach or board member with any concerns.

Tournament participation is optional but encouraged. Coaches will provide event details, registration information, and guidance. Parents are responsible for travel and attendance unless otherwise coordinated. Most tournaments last anywhere from 2 to 5 hours or longer depending on the event and bracket progression.

Weigh ins are conducted according to tournament rules set by the sanctioning body. Most events allow a 2 lb weight allowance, meaning an athlete may weigh up to 2 lbs over the stated weight class limit depending on tournament guidelines. Coaches will communicate specific weigh in details for each event.

Wrestlers should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to ensure they are properly prepared, including having wrestling shoes on and being ready to begin practice on time. Pickup should not be an issue; however, parents are strongly encouraged to remain for the duration of practice either inside the facility or in their vehicle. If running late for pickup, communication is required.

We expect respectful behavior at all times. If a wrestler becomes disruptive, coaches will address the behavior using age appropriate corrective action. This may include verbal correction, temporary removal from practice, conditioning based accountability, parent communication, or removal from practice if necessary. Repeated or serious issues may result in suspension or removal from the program at the discretion of club leadership.
